Question by : Is Abelton Live good for Multitrack Recording?
I own Ableton Live. I want to know if Abelton live is good for recording instruments, Vocals etc and Mixing and Mastering. I heard it’s Meant to be for Deejing and Live performances and I worry it might not suit my in studio recording needs.

I’ve used it for studio recordings, for guitar, vocals, bass, and programmed drums. It worked fine on all those. The part about it being for DJs and live performances is due to the extra beat warping, pattern looping, and other features Live has that some other software doesn’t.

But those aside, what Live has is perfectly fine for regular recording needs as well. It allows VST plugins, VST instruments, editing of audio waveforms, overdubbing, MIDI editing, and more. While It’s not specifically *geared* toward mastering, if you know what you’re doing with mastering plugins on the master bus, it can be used for that as well.
