Those of you familiar with the previous models of Fender’s GDEC range will be aware of the concept of this combo amplifier, essentially the GDEC series is an amplifier with a host of built-in guitar effects and a range of high quality backing tracks played in a wide variety of styles. The aim of this amplifier was as a rehearsal tool for guitar players – it was designed to help guitarists widen their playing techniques by being able to prcatice them in the comfort of their own homes … However Fender have taken the new model – The GDEC 3, up a few notches and have included even more effects and an even wider range of music styles, plus they have added a USB port and a free copy of Ableton Live Lite 8 recording software so you can now hook your GDEC 3 with your computer. Another neat feature on the new model is the addition of an SD card slot for recording solos, riffs or any other musical sketches and improvisations, Plus there are stereo line outs for recording and live performance environments … The amp itself is rated at 30 Watts RMS and utilises a specuially designed 10″ custom driver, there’s the usual high quality Digital Amp modelling and DSP guitar Effects with 100 factory Pre-sets and a further 100 user patches.
